Well as
the summer breeze seems to knock on the window I had kept closed
I heard
the birds chirping greetings draw near
I put
aside the book in my hands as I got up to open the view of the world
And ask
with a smile "Where did you come from to arrive here?"
This world
of mine is simple to see, but it's because I'm far too complex
It became
so due to problems no one can truly understand
Outside
the town deep in the forest, this house here is hidden apart from the rest
Yes that
is why no one visits this far-off mystery land
"Do
not make clear eye contact!"
With a
heart carved out of stone, I resign myself to isolation here
I live out
my days only laying gaze out on "Things"
The only
things that I know of the world held outside are things told of in a
storybook's page
But could I see what that knocking sound brings?
It had flowed faintly passing by
In this irrationality I was born in
Strangely I found life here when I had asked myself why
Hey, hey is there something out there
Something that matches all the things I imagine
And possibly, would it come knocking at the door for me?
As I was lost in fantasy, gazing out at the sky held outside
I suddenly heard a voice floating in
I knocked over my tea in surprise, spilling it all over the table
"What to do" was what I had to ask myself as I got to my feet then
"If I look into your eyes, your body will become stone"
That's what I heard from my parents long in the past
And it had seemed that that held true for my eyes alone
And just like in stories, that power is to be feared
And over time it seems that the threat has grown
And that is why I remain here all alone
Thump-thump-thump went the closed front door
As the knocking sound reached my ears I realized
I was nervous to see the person who might see me
Let me say in this sealed-off world
That the outside noise was something that should be ignored
But in reality, something could only be found past that door

Finding me
alone, silently cowering in fear
That one person was taken by surprise
"If you were to look right at me, you would turn to stone
The second you saw my eyes"
"I have been afraid of turning to stone one day
But I believe it doesn't matter here.
Wouldn't you agree that our world would be better off
Without all that fear?"
Hearing these words of honesty
I raised my gaze to see what may have greeted me
My heart overflowed with new imagination instantly
Tell me why you have come this way
To teach me all about the things that lie in the future
If I were lost again
I know you'll be waiting here for sure
So as the summer breeze rushes in with the scent of the bright morning skies
I turn my head to the window with my uncovered red eyes
