Something to wonder (Old note from my Ipod touch)

What if the world of Haruhi Suzumiya only existed for 3 years? If Haruhi created that world at the beginning, and everything else came as a consequence. Thus, the time issue with the time travelers isn't an anomaly. They can't travel before 3 years because there wasn't anything before then. They only believe they could, without any supporting proof. The aliens would believe haruhi is the key to evolution because she is the only truly unique being, among a universe of projections. The espers stance would remain the same, as the entertainment of Haruhi means the sustainment of their world. If she were to become bored, the "empty space" may develop into an alternate pocket dimension, creating a new world and possibly destroying the old one. From the premise that Haruhi is the only real being of a world of her own design, the importance of Kyon changes. He may no longer be significant for being a "normal" human, rather he is important as a grounded character. Of course, this interpretation is drawn from my own view of existence, so labels such as normal and abnormal are arbitrary.

Old note found on my iPod touch

Well, seemed like this was the best place to post. Feel free to use this as a resource if the inclusion of Reality benders comes up.

The threat of noetic development:
-Possibility of subatomic alteration
-Usable development of damaging intent
-Subconscious production of AIM fields and processes
-undergoing unexplained phenomena due to conscious or subconscious desire

Subatomic alteration:
Assuming the noetic effects allow conscious manipulation of matter, it is conceivable that with refinement, the process could be improved from macro-scale to micro-scale manipulation.
This may lead to the manipulation of subatomic particles, allowing for what could arguably be referred to as "Alchemy". If the human mind was capable to both sensing and arranging billions of atoms at once, voluntary manipulation could be used to change atomic properties. More likely is the scenario in which the user affected a single particle, destabilizing it without any control. Best case scenario, alpha and beta radiation are emitted due to electron tampering. Worst case scenario, the nucleus is ruptured and the strong nuclear force destabilizes, creating a fission reaction. For examples, see Children of the Lamp (book), Full Metal Alchemist, some of Accelerator's vector calculations in Toaru Railgun/Index

Intent:Given the possibility that good intent and homeopathy are thought to facilitate healing and health, it is also possible that the opposite would hold. Just as focused external beneficial intent may have beneficial effects on the recipient, detrimental intent may have the same effect. Thus, if developed, it would be possible to inflict harm on others in an undetectable manner. For examples, see "Killing Intent", Positive/Negative energy applications in DnD, Power Rings from the Marvel universes

Subconscious production of AIM fields:
If the advancement of noetic science ends up with the capability to enable humans with the ability to make changes to the world on a whim, simply dependent on will, it is likely that the amount of damage done will be dependent on the mentality of the user. The more open minded to change, the easier it may be to enact that change consciously. Regardless, the ability to change the world on a whim will almost certainly lead to the Suzumiya eventuality, though the time would vary depending on the above mindset. If multiple users were in existence at once, a situation similar to that of Academy City would arise, depending on the manner in which AIM fields manifested. For examples, see Toaru Railgun, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Yozakura Quartet, or the creation of the universe in 8-bit Theater

Desire: Much like the above, desire stems from a conscious or subconscious wish for an unnatural change in the environment, however it is done through a process that does not necessarily need to be explainable or reasonable. For examples, see Monkey's Paw, the Djinn in Children of the Lamp, or SCP. Basically, these are anomalies that simply break the rules.

Events and consequences:

Suzumiya Eventuality:
If someone was capable to consciously restructuring the world on a whim, the urge to do so would only increase over time. Frequent use of restructuring powers would develop into a habit, allowing the individual to Resnais reality in greater and greater comfort. If the situation ever escalated to the point where they were creating change unconsciously, they are likely to begin to doubt the certainty of the very universe. For many, the loss of confidence that things exist at all will likely lead to an urge to prove existence. While the encounter of unexpected or unknown information may allow relief, the leading of that knowledge and becoming accustomed to it will eventually render it useless. Eventually, there will be no certainty, and it is likely the individual will seek it in the form of defeat. If they know for a fact everything is fake, at least they know a fact. To dispel boredom and unease, it is likely they will take action in one of several ways:
No change, Suzumiya 1
Total destruction
Total destruction and reconstruction, Madoka
Addition, God

No change: the individual would consign themself to accepting the world as it is. The continued doubt would likely change their demeanor to one of cynicism and skepticism. They may forgo all alteration, and try to live as a shadow of a carefree person. Will likely be apathetic to life and death, and apathetic to materialism. (Note: given their status as a reality bender in the narrative, it is highly likely their services may be sought by other characters. This mindset may lead to either resistance to aiding other characters to the individual removing themself from the pertinent area to be alone)

Total destruction: the tearing down of reality would probably kill the individual as well unless they made precautions to preserve themself, such as altering their form to exist independent of anything else, or creating a contained environment outside of existence somehow. (Note: Rocks fall, everyone dies.)

Destruction and Creation: provided the individual did not perish in the same manner as above, they would conceivably destroy all or a portion of existence, and replace or create another aspect to change the overall situation. As a result, the individual becomes a god in a functional sense, and is able to enact change at will. (Note: Think Dr. Manhattan's line "Maybe I'll try creating life")

Addition: depending on what sort of addition takes place, this change may not be perceivable at all. If the individual inserts the addition into the world without adjustment, the addition may be noticed and remarked upon. However, if it is added with the assumption that it will be seen as normal, no notice will be taken of it, though it's influence would only be recorded starting from that point onwards. If the individual adds the insert to the beginning, it will functionally have always been there. However, the insert may cause a time contradiction with the individual, and result in either a dual-exclusion loop or a branch-origin dualworld system. (Note: See Puella Magi Madoka Magica where
Madoka alters the universe to erase witches, and subsequently erases herself
for the second case, of Haruhi's creation of a timequake that prevents time travelers from travelling to a time period before Haruhi "became God" for the first case)

In any case, disregarding total deletion, the individual will most likely be able to sustain their situation if they are willing to forgo humanity and certainty. To avoid the nihilist complex, they would have to accept that they cannot know, that they are at a loss to themself. They would have to accept the idea of a contradiction, and live only in the present. These characters, while capable of become Mary Sues, will either remain flat as such or will likely collapse without outside intervention.

Arrival of Tears [English Adaptation Lyrics]

In the awakening of this warped world of rust
If the crimson night sees fit to meet your eyes

If you can sleep forevermore in darkness

Then drown in shadows cast by the moonrise

Even if flames shoot forth and swallow whole
The world you know and love, burning it fully
We must not let the light go out from shadow
For the sake of tomorrow I fight earnestly

Overflowing teardrops fall upon the ground that's glistening
The syllables spell out "Oblivion"
Loneliness is kept in the floating light of wayward souls
The struggle that we see has just begun
Pierce the sky, pass the heavens by,
Just embrace the world, keep the hope you feel inside and survive

Back in the nights when I still wandered all alone
I felt the beating heart of the dark underworld
The crest that I've created crosses over
And shows my life as a banner unfurled

Even if drying tears are colored like sin
Even if punishment begins with our damnation
If it's for the sake of our tomorrow
I promise there would be no hesitation

If your past just holds you back, then throw it away and fight fate
Fight for the futures ahead that you see
Raise your fist skywards and sacrifice for anything
You life can be given for victory
Engraved souls are beyond control
They return to earth and prove to anyone who see, that they're worth

On the cold nights where the dark moon sleeps soundly,
red tears form freely and fall to the ground
For each respective glance we share as a whole
Tomorrow is the promised place that we will go

Endless tears now glisten down and splash into the deep darkness
The boundless void swallows each drop that's cast
Gone without a sound, it disappeared in a world of stillness
But still I know the darkness cannot last

Overflowing teardrops fall upon the ground that's glistening
The syllables spell out "Oblivion"
Loneliness is kept in the floating light of wayward souls
The struggle that we see has just begun
Pierce the sky, pass the heavens by,
Just embrace the world, keep the hope you feel inside and survive

Thousand Enemies [English Adaptation Lyrics]

Passing free time by with you in a bad mood
There's one thing that I've learned to give as advice

Pretend to be that way and keep on fighting desperately each day

Promise me always that you'll never give in and crumble like half-melted ice
Even in summer's warmth, keep your hard coldness, don't melt away under the sun
I'm sure ahead there's some shade above us that keeps us sheltered and cool
Hearts held in that shape are something you must make
If we can all see how they are held coldly, they'd know
About what our hearts can show

Although I'm hungry, I keep on making my way forward
The thing I've learned is to never stagnate when I'm bored
Let's put off what is next and do what I want to, alright?
Grab a bite, eat it up, now I'm ready to continue the fight!

I want this always, this solid feeling, that is resilient as steel
A stubborn spirit, that never give up, living their life as they feel
I'm sure right now, it is defending, the things that it knows to be real
On the path ahead, a thousand enemies
Standing in my way, they're waiting there for me and you
Let's show them a thing or two

If we're lost can you show me this? The map to your heart within
I want you to give up and let me in
if you do I'm sure we will find,  the path ahead on our own
Honestly I can't do this alone

Come now, let's go forth, let us march ahead towards true north

Just like a couple, we'll be together, fighting our way side-by-side
Even in summer, the heat won't get us, we'll take the warm rays in stride
I'm sure ahead there's, some unknown landscape, that waits for our eyes to be seen
When that time has come, I'll listen to your song
Take this feeling here, and say these words to make it clear
Tell the world what you can do, and I'll tell them the same too
I'll tell them all for you

Tabi no Tochuu [English Adaptation Lyrics]

I was once alone, with a silence grown from when I lost my way
As i'm standing here, my heart remains near, but I can walk again

At the journey's end, will we meet, my friend? Like we did long ago
On this road we take, towards the daybreak, must it always be so?

The song that travelers sing on the road sounds quite familiar to me
It reminds me of how I feel when I'm with you, though I don't know it completely

In this dream world that is found here
It can fade out and disappear
Let's look for it, past the far breeze
Past the sky that we can seize

Past the cold dawn, the dry midday
In the dark night, we'll be okay
Around corners found in each bend
Let's see what lies at the end

In your lonely eyes, I can see the pain that you have come to know
When you blink at me, I can clearly see colors reflected so
I dream if I try I could reach the sky and become like the moon
The stars that appear, look like the shards of my tears that may fall to the earth soon

Docks to the east and a sea to the west show the way tides can flow
Towns to the south in the dark forest's growth bathe in gold tower's glow
Hills to the north that will shake water soon still look up at the same moon

Let us look forth, come take my hand
I can lead you across this land
Where we're going is a mystery
But at least I walk with you
I don't know where we may end up
If I have you, that is enough
Let us explore this world found here
And sing "Tabi no Tochuu"

Negai wo Yobu Kisetsu [English Adaptation Lyrics]

If you look up at the sky on a lonely summer night
Perhaps you can see some light
I wished I wouldn’t part from that moment here right now
I want to remain in this place I have found

To go repeat the things that circle round without an ending
Just do it again, sing out to the new sunrise
Open your eyes

Thousands of prayers ago, the seasons called to me
Crossing the distant nights to whisper in my ears where I would now be
The truest of miracles come as long as you believe
Don’t forget the things you can achieve

On those warm summer nights, the seven-cicadas call
They cry out for souls that fade away as they fall
They live and die again in a cycle that repeats without fail
Passing time matters not, because they know their purpose
Living for this

Thousands of prayers from now, I’m sure that I’ll still know
What that one dream was like, the one that the seasons saw fit to show
As long as I can see that sight, I know this hope’s in reach
And as long as I hold it close, it won’t cease

Thousands of prayers are said, calling to what can be
Marking the path we take, to travel to the place our eyes can see
As long as we still have our faith, our dreams can still come true
Always seek the distant things you can do

Thousands of wishes are sent up to the falling stars
Carrying hopes onwards, that can be seen clearly wherever you are
From hearing how the seasons call out, I see the future’s light
All was told to me today, in my heart they’ll always stay, on this night

Update on this blog

Because I'm lazy as hell, I'm not posting my poetry anymore. It's all going up on AllPoetry. Song lyrics are going here instead, for convenience sake.
