What if the world of Haruhi Suzumiya only existed for 3 years? If Haruhi created that world at the beginning, and everything else came as a consequence. Thus, the time issue with the time travelers isn't an anomaly. They can't travel before 3 years because there wasn't anything before then. They only believe they could, without any supporting proof. The aliens would believe haruhi is the key to evolution because she is the only truly unique being, among a universe of projections. The espers stance would remain the same, as the entertainment of Haruhi means the sustainment of their world. If she were to become bored, the "empty space" may develop into an alternate pocket dimension, creating a new world and possibly destroying the old one. From the premise that Haruhi is the only real being of a world of her own design, the importance of Kyon changes. He may no longer be significant for being a "normal" human, rather he is important as a grounded character. Of course, this interpretation is drawn from my own view of existence, so labels such as normal and abnormal are arbitrary.

The threat of noetic development:
-Possibility of subatomic alteration
-Usable development of damaging intent
-Subconscious production of AIM fields and processes
-undergoing unexplained phenomena due to conscious or subconscious desire

Subatomic alteration:
Assuming the noetic effects allow conscious manipulation of matter, it is conceivable that with refinement, the process could be improved from macro-scale to micro-scale manipulation.
This may lead to the manipulation of subatomic particles, allowing for what could arguably be referred to as "Alchemy". If the human mind was capable to both sensing and arranging billions of atoms at once, voluntary manipulation could be used to change atomic properties. More likely is the scenario in which the user affected a single particle, destabilizing it without any control. Best case scenario, alpha and beta radiation are emitted due to electron tampering. Worst case scenario, the nucleus is ruptured and the strong nuclear force destabilizes, creating a fission reaction. Intent:Given the possibility that good intent and homeopathy are thought to facilitate healing and health, it is also possible that the opposite would hold. Just as focused external beneficial intent may have beneficial effects on the recipient, detrimental intent may have the same effect. Thus, if developed, it would be possible to inflict harm on others in an undetectable manner. For examples, see "Killing Intent", Positive/Negative energy applications in DnD, Power Rings from the Marvel universes

Subconscious production of AIM fields:
If the advancement of noetic science ends up with the capability to enable humans with the ability to make changes to the world on a whim, simply dependent on will, it is likely that the amount of damage done will be dependent on the mentality of the user. The more open minded to change, the easier it may be to enact that change consciously. Regardless, the ability to change the world on a whim will almost certainly lead to the Suzumiya eventuality, though the time would vary depending on the above mindset. If multiple users were in existence at once, a situation similar to that of Academy City would arise, depending on the manner in which AIM fields manifested. For examples, see Toaru Railgun, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Yozakura Quartet, or the creation of the universe in 8-bit Theater

Desire: Much like the above, desire stems from a conscious or subconscious wish for an unnatural change in the environment, however it is done through a process that does not necessarily need to be explainable or reasonable. For examples, see Monkey's Paw, the Djinn in Children of the Lamp, or SCP. Basically, these are anomalies that simply [i]break the rules.[/i]

Events and consequences:

Suzumiya Eventuality:
If someone was capable to consciously restructuring the world on a whim, the urge to do so would only increase over time. Frequent use of restructuring powers would develop into a habit, allowing the individual to Resnais reality in greater and greater comfort. If the situation ever escalated to the point where they were creating change unconsciously, they are likely to begin to doubt the certainty of the very universe. For many, the loss of confidence that things exist at all will likely lead to an urge to prove existence. While the encounter of unexpected or unknown information may allow relief, the leading of that knowledge and becoming accustomed to it will eventually render it useless. Eventually, there will be no certainty, and it is likely the individual will seek it in the form of defeat. If they know for a fact everything is fake, at least they know a fact. To dispel boredom and unease, it is likely they will take action in one of several ways:
No change, Suzumiya 1
Total destruction
Total destruction and reconstruction, Madoka
Addition, God

No change: the individual would consign themself to accepting the world as it is. The continued doubt would likely change their demeanor to one of cynicism and skepticism. They may forgo all alteration, and try to live as a shadow of a carefree person. Will likely be apathetic to life and death, and apathetic to materialism. (Note: given their status as a reality bender in the narrative, it is highly likely their services may be sought by other characters. This mindset may lead to either resistance to aiding other characters to the individual removing themself from the pertinent area to be alone)

Total destruction: the tearing down of reality would probably kill the individual as well unless they made precautions to preserve themself, such as altering their form to exist independent of anything else, or creating a contained environment outside of existence somehow. (Note: Rocks fall, everyone dies.)

Destruction and Creation: provided the individual did not perish in the same manner as above, they would conceivably destroy all or a portion of existence, and replace or create another aspect to change the overall situation. As a result, the individual becomes a god in a functional sense, and is able to enact change at will. (Note: Think Dr. Manhattan's line "Maybe I'll try creating life")

Addition: depending on what sort of addition takes place, this change may not be perceivable at all. If the individual inserts the addition into the world without adjustment, the addition may be noticed and remarked upon. However, if it is added with the assumption that it will be seen as normal, no notice will be taken of it, though it's influence would only be recorded starting from that point onwards. If the individual adds the insert to the beginning, it will functionally have always been there. However, the insert may cause a time contradiction with the individual, and result in either a dual-exclusion loop or a branch-origin dualworld system. (Note: See Puella Magi Madoka Magica where [spoiler]Madoka alters the universe to erase witches, and subsequently erases herself[/spoiler] for the second case, of Haruhi's creation of a timequake that prevents time travelers from travelling to a time period before Haruhi "became God" for the first case)

In any case, disregarding total deletion, the individual will most likely be able to sustain their situation if they are willing to forgo humanity and certainty. To avoid the nihilist complex, they would have to accept that they cannot know, that they are at a loss to themself. They would have to accept the idea of a contradiction, and live only in the present. These characters, while capable of become Mary Sues, will either remain flat as such or will likely collapse without outside intervention.
