And everything went to Hell (Part 2)
The story: Everyone
quickly notices the appearance of flowers from all seasons, and soon everyone
is out investigating.
Stage 1: Cirno
immediately knows what's going on and decides to head out to play. She winds up
by the SDM and causes enough noise to bring Sakuya out. Sakuya decides to
investigate, and Cirno "wins" because Sakuya "ran away".
She starts playing in the forest, but falls when she freezes the branch she was
sitting on and it shatters.
Stage 2: Cirno falls
near Mystia, startling her. Mystia begins fleeing (Similar to her appearance in
Strange and Bright Nature Deity), but doesn't realize that the "scary ice
youkai" is just a fairy. Cirno "wins" because Mystia escapes
when Cirno is temporarily night blind. She then tries to escape the forest
she's lost in by flying up. Meanwhile, Sakuya runs into Tewi who has left
Eientei without telling anyone and gives her advice on how to set traps. Marisa
goes to the shrine to tell Reimu what's going on and challenges her to figure
it out first. Reimu then sets out for the SDM while Marisa heads to the
Netherworld. Aya starts looking for a scoop and runs into Lyrica near the
Netherworld Gate. She checks the shrine, but Reimu has already left, so Aya
investigates the bamboo forest.
Stage 3: Marisa quickly
finds out the Netherworld's not behind the flowers, and Youmu is sent out to
investigate as well. Sakuya warns Mystia away from Human Village in case Reimu
comes by, then heads for Youkai mountain to see if there are any peonies for
tea. Aya informs Reisen that Reimu is missing, and she then goes to find Lily
White while Reisen wanders into the Garden of the Sun. Cirno runs into and
challenges Lyrica. Cirno "wins" when Lyrica flees from an oncoming
cloud during Cirno's perfect freeze spellcard, and Cirno falls back down into
the forest while frozen over, running into Marisa. Reimu is ambushed by Tewi,
who implicates Sakuya. Tewi then goes to the shrine to set up traps while Reimu
goes to the SDM and demands Meiling bring Sakuya out. Upon learning Sakuya
couldn't have caused the flowering, Reimu and a newly arrived Lyrica go
elsewhere where Lyrica starts performing her now in-progress Spring song.
Stage 4: Youmu arrives
in Gensokyo and runs into Sakuya, helping her in her search for Peonies. Upon
locating the flower, Youmu realizes there are ghosts in and around the flowers,
while Sakuya concludes that peonies won't make good tea and looks elsewhere.
Aya returns to the shrine and finds Tewi there. She investigates the shrine,
but finds nothing of note. Before leaving, she finds something and decides to
take care of Reimu's subscription to her newspaper, and tells Tewi that Reisen
is looking for her. Reimu listens to Lyrica's song, but concludes that it's
missing something, and they both go their separate ways. Yuuka finds and fights
Reisen, driving her away, while Medicine drives Mystia out of the Suzuran patch
by threatening her with poison. Marisa then decides to throw the fight against
Cirno while using a nerfed imitation of [Fantasy Seal], citing her lack
of Red and White clothing as her reason for losing. She then
convinces Cirno to take over the shrine through reverse psychology, and heads
to Eientei. Cirno arrives at the shrine where Tewi is still setting up pranks.
Stage 5: Sakuya arrives
at Medicine's clearing, ignoring all attempts by Medicine to get her to leave.
Eventually, Medicine leaves to find more Suzuran. Youmu begins investigating
flowers when she runs into a panicking Mystia. After calming her down, Youmu shares
information that the flowers are filled with ghosts, and Mystia runs off
screaming again. Cirno brags to Tewi that she beat Reimu, and Tewi is unsure
after Cirno accurately describes the amulets used in the [Fantasy Seal]
Spellcard. Just in case, Tewi sends Cirno after Reisen, promising to admit
defeat if Reisen loses. After Cirno leaves, Tewi finds a smaller version of the
donation box and heads to Human Village to ask for donations (Similar to
Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red)
Stage
6: Cirno immediately explains her victory against “Reimu”, allowing Reisen to
deduce that her opponent was actually Marisa. Reisen uses her Lunatic Red Eyes
to distract Cirno and leaves to continue to search for Tewi while Cirno
eventually “wins” against the illusion and returns to the shrine. Once there,
she runs into Reimu and a newly arrived Suika and boasts about her victory
against “Reimu”. Lyrica finally gives up on trying to observe fairies and finds
a quiet clearing, running into Youmu on the way. Aya encounters Yuuka and
avoids fighting Yuuka properly, eventually leaving and running into Youmu and
Lyrica. Meanwhile, Mystia runs into Tewi while still panicking and is quickly
calmed down, making a donation to the “shrine” in exchange for a “blessing”.
Marisa runs across Medicine in another Suzuran patch, but drives her off
without seeming to notice. Sakuya arrives in Higan and alerts Komachi to the
situation, before being accosted by a newly arrived Eiki.
Stage
7: At the shrine, Suika begins to interrogate Cirno about the details, while
Reimu silently fumes at Cirno’s inadvertent insults to “Reimu”. Upon realizing
the culprit is Marisa, Reimu flies into a rage and ends up sending Cirno in the
direction she assumes Yuuka is. She then leaves Suika to clean up the shrine
while she begins clearing out fairies near the human village. Mystia wanders
into the Garden of the Sun while singing, and Yuuka interrupts. After scaring
Mystia off, Yuuka gives up on waiting and moves to Higan. Marisa runs into Tewi
and the two chat about what they’ve done so far. Lyrica quickly leaves to avoid
being interviewed, while Youmu and Aya observe Merlin and Lunasa following her.
They then discuss the situation and Aya leaves for Human Village in time to see
Reimu’s extermination rampage. Lyrica runs into Reisen and begins acting coy,
sparking Reisen into fighting her for information. After Lyrica eventually
leaves, Reisen addresses the hidden Merlin and Lunasa, asking if they’re going
to follow. Sakuya receives a lecture from Eiki about her coldness and returns
home
Stage
8: Cirno confronts Yuuka and goads her into attacking. Yuuka takes her
seriously and vaporizes Cirno with a Double Spark. Medicine find her way to
Eiki and receives a lecture about her narrow-mindedness. Youmu encounters Tewi,
who eventually agrees to guide her to the Sanzu as someone else observes them.
Marisa finds Reisen wandering in the Magic Forest, and duels her over
information concerning Tewi’s whereabouts. Lyrica wanders to the SDM and is
creeped out by Sakuya’s forward attempt to be friendly, choosing to practice
over the lake while Merlin and Lunasa continue following her. Near Human
Village, Aya begins chatting with Reimu about the incident, eventually letting
slip a clue that the Sanzu may have something interesting and that Aya mistook
the donation box as a mailbox and the offerings inside as payment for a
subscription to Bunbunmaru.
Stage
9: Tewi and Youmu arrive at the Sanzu and run into Yuuka, who challenges them
while their observer leaves. Reimu finds Komachi slacking off and scolds her,
which Eiki finds ironic when she arrives. Marisa runs into Lyrica practicing in
the woods, and the two are interrupted by Lily White. Marisa decides to take
part in Lily White’s celebration, to the Prismriver’s horror. Aya stops by the
SDM while rewriting her article and begins speaking with Sakuya and Meiling by
the front gate, who have decided to move the SDM’s flower viewing party to the
Shrine.
Stage
10: Reisen sets out from Eientei again and runs into Mystia while looking for
Tewi. Lyrica runs into Tewi in the bamboo forest after running from Marisa and
Lily White/Yuuka respectively. Reimu complains to Eiki, only to receive a
lecture about her job in return. Marisa wanders into Higan and slacks off with
Komachi until Eiki comes. Youmu runs into an idling Medicine and ends up
fighting her until Komachi drives Medicine off.
Stage
11: Reisen checks for Tewi by the SDM, speaking with Sakuya. Eiki lectures
Marisa about her honesty. Komachi begins fighting Youmu to prevent her from
cutting ghosts until Eiki arrives.
Stage
12: Reisen checks for Tewi at the Nameless Hill, running into Medicine and
being offered a position in the Doll Alliance. Youmu receives a lecture from
Eiki about interfering with the land of the living. Aya returns from Youkai
Mountain and comes across Mystia, who needs to transport Sanzu water. She then
arrives at Higan as Tewi arrives, and bothers Komachi as Tewi is taken away by
Eiki. Yuuka runs into Marisa as she’s leaving Higan, and doesn’t believe
Marisa’s honest directions to Eiki. Marisa then visits the SDM openly, leaving
in her usual manner. Reimu reflects upon her lecture and makes her way to the
SDM, eventually having a conversation with Sakuya as the mess from Marisa’s
visit is cleaned up. Yukari drops in on Yuyuko and they discuss why Youmu was
sent out to meet Eiki.
Stage
13: Aya asks what Eiki wants and Komachi explains the lectures, citing Medicine
as an example. Reisen arrives and is directed in the direction Eiki and Tewi
left in. Aya finds Medicine and learns about the Doll Alliance. She runs into
Marisa and mentions Mystia needed help, then returns to Higan. Marisa arrives
later with a kidnapped Mystia under her arm. Eiki lectures Tewi on her more
underhanded tricks. Youmu arrives in the Netherworld and discusses her trip
with Yuyuko, and Yukari eventually drops by to tell them about the party.
Stage
14: Reisen receives a lecture about her loyalty from Eiki. Marisa decides to
help Mystia and has Aya help steal Komachi’s boat to transport the water. Aya,
Marisa, and Komachi run off, leaving Mystia to wander Higan until Eiki finds
her. While running, Komachi mistakenly misdirects Yuuka when she encounters
her.
Stage
15: Eiki lectures Mystia over her careless influencing of spirits through song,
Marisa and Aya drop of Komachi’s boat at Mystia’s stand, with Marisa leaving to
return to the SDM and Aya going back to run into Komachi. Yukari watches events
unfold as Marisa returns to the SDM, while Reisen returns to Eientei and
informs Eirin of the existence of Medicine.
Stage
16: Lyrica arrives at Higan, drawn by Mystia’s song, and is lectured by Eiki in
regards to the importance of having a purpose. During this, Lunasa and Merlin
rejoin Lyrica and reveal they had been following her.
Stage
17: Eiki arrives to where Aya and Komachi had been waiting and sends Komachi
off to work. Eiki then lectures Aya about her tendency to cause incidents by
writing about them and uses a newly reformed Cirno as an example.
Stage
18: Yuuka finally finds Eiki and begins mocking her. During the argument, Yuuka
wakes Cirno by throwing her into the Sanzu and leaves.
Stage
19: Cirno recovers and fights Eiki, who tries to lecture her about the
responsibility of her power. Eiki eventually gives up when it is clear that
Cirno is not listening and does not understand the lecture.
Stage
20: Eiki and Komachi begin ferrying souls recklessly, using Komachi’s ability
to speed up the crossing of the Sanzu. Aya finds Cirno by a lake and interviews
her, mentioning the flower view as Cirno is eaten by a giant frog. Reimu visits
Higan while pondering her lecture and runs into Yukari and Yuyuko, who are
discussing the cycle. The three disperse when they sense Eiki returning.
Bonus:
After leaving Higan, Reimu arrives at the shrine to find Suika and Marisa
already there. Before long, the SDM group arrives for the flower viewing (Which
Reimu was still unaware of), followed by the Prismrivers. Marisa is attacked by
Patchouli in retaliation to her earlier visit to Voile, and Cirno and Aya
arrive. Cirno attempts to start fights, but Yuuka cows her with her umbrella
before chastising Marisa for lying through not lying. Marisa comments that the
Eientei group should have arrived by then when Yukari’s group gaps in, bringing
sake. The Eientei group arrives, and Tewi placates Reimu with some of her
gathered donations, forestalling retribution for pranking the shrine. Mukou
arrives and attacks Kaguya, and Reimu warns them not to damage the shrine with
her fight. After that, Yukari, Suika, Marisa, and Reimu drink the sake Yukari
brought, only to find that Marisa’s drink had been spiked with Bhut Jolochia
spice at Reimu’s request. Aya arrives to distribute her latest issue of
Bunbunmaru, and Yukari comments on its change from her usual format. Marisa
jokes about someone possibly destroying the shrine if Reimu doesn’t take her
job seriously, and Yukari asks Suika to make preparations in case that happens.
The Netherworld group arrives, and Reimu and Youmu leave to help set up while
the others contemplate how the next 60-year cycle may proceed, guessing at
future events. Marisa begins messing with a laptop from Kourindou while the
others begin discussing technological advancements, with Yukari suddenly taking
a tangent to referencing the Palace of Earthen Spirits. Patchouli reappears to
complain about Suika and a cataclysm, and Alice arrives to ask if that
cataclysm has anything to do with Marisa actually telling the truth. Marisa
jokes that she may soon steal Reimu’s job, and Reimu takes offense to that.
Everything is interrupted when Flandre appears, revealing she followed the SDM
group to the viewing. Marisa leaves to start a game of tag between her,
Flandre, and Aya, which ends with Flandre accidentally destroying the ‘eyes’ of
Mukou and Kaguya.
EX
Story:
The
next day, Reimu is cleaning up after the flower viewing when Marisa arrives.
Reimu stops to angrily complain about Marisa’s actions from the day before,
which made the cleanup extremely difficult. Eiki arrives and complains about
Marisa’s new policy of balancing bad karma with meaningless good deeds, but is
interrupted when Yukari throws Chen at her through a gap. Chen reveals that she
has been sent to negotiate a meeting between Yukari and Eiki, and when Eiki
demands that it be with witnesses present, Yukari arrives, holding a kidnapped
Suika and the Ibuki Gourd.
Eiki
agrees to Yukari’s terms of taking a drink for every topic of the lecture, and
begins revealing Yukari’s indiscretions, including her incitement of the Lunar
War, her failure to repair the Netherworld border in a timely manner, her
alteration of the Hakurei Orbs to have the useless powers referenced in the
PC-98 canon, and her frequent visits to the Outside world. Komachi eventually
arrives to drag a drunken Eiki back to Hell, while Reimu and Marisa begin
asking about what they heard. Yukari answers the questions evasively before
leaving to avoid answering why she has been keeping an eye on two outside girls
(Maribel and Renko)
