Series Orange

The poems digitized from the orange stickies in my journal

The Perspective from Here (Date unknown)
Who we are and what we’ll be
Is what many minds want to know
I have solved that mystery
In one light I will show

We stand on the world
Impure and flawed, unjust
Thoughts and Ideas have long swirled
Yet we die and fall to dust

Matter and energy, we are refined
Your death gives birth to the world part
You take these words to mind
I will take them to heart

Call from the ages (Date unknown, titled 2/28/11)
The time is nigh, for we must all
Make a bitter choice
To sit and watch our foundations fall
Or to speak out with our voice

The shadows fill our cities
Cloaking all in dark
They shall not keep from me
A journey we must embark

They block the faces of many friends
Make sure to clear them away
They may work hard for use of THEIR ends
Instead for the coming day

Our path is set, to banish the shade
By tooth, by nail, by voice
To save all we have worked and made
We’ll make the bitter choice

For the shadows want to lead use down
A path we all secretly dread
And I for one will not be the one
Who sits there and counts the dead
Ponder what I have said

Inner Demon (Date Unknown)
Away with you, you fickle beast
The one inside my head
Away with you, your voice shall cease
I sorely wish you dead

You emerged from the mi[d]st of mind
And have hounded me since then
Your presence here has been an awful bind
My mind has become your den

But no matter how I scream and rage
One fact has never changed
You’re part of me, written on this page
The part of me deranged

Revise/Reflect (Date unknown)
These words flung out to time and space
These thoughts among the sky
The time has come to run this race
To let your dreams fly by

Your path is yours, your way overgrown
Run free through forest trail
Use to your strength all you have known
Without though of how you may fail

Speed along to feel the breeze
That floats among your hair
Take the time to climb some trees
Feel free to gape and stare

Look out upon the empty plain
Or out to stormy sea
Question all that has occurred
Ask what this means to me

Starry Eyed (Date unknown)
Countless myriad lights above
Filling up the sky
Many times I’ve sat and watched
These beings up on high

Even if they are all long dead
Their light reveals to me
What we were and what we are
And what we’ll always be

Shadows circling among the stars
Dragged around all the way
But each of us holds a small hope
Hope for the coming day

Grand Testament (Date Unknown)
Castle built up to the stars
Our castle in the sky
A testament to all we’re wrought
To bring ourselves up high

Up above we stand, higher than clouds
Gazing into the sun
But what we have will fully shroud
What we have often done

The foundation of this castle tall
(Set so long ago)
Has rotted away, so now we fall
And bring us crashing low

Sparkle Spire (Unknown Date)
Our spires shine brightly in the light
But cast shadows long below
We are all prepared to fight
But our own people are our foe

The tallest towers get the light
And shadow the battlements small
We will surely rue the day
When our proud structures fall
