Contrary to what many may believe, Yukari did not actually
have eyes and ears everywhere, which may have come as a surprise to those
accustomed to her meddling. What she did
have was a video camera, the ability to anchor a hidden gap to a person of her
choosing, and an unhealthy amount of free time. Given the intricate nature of
some of her plots, Yukari often had to focus her attention on one thing at a
time, and thus had to rely on a recording to keep on top of less important
things
In the case of the flower view, relegating a second gap to
keep an eye on Marisa while Yukari personally tracked Youmu was for the best. When
watching a gap feed personally, Yukari had a habit of taking control of the
feed in order to tweak the view as she desired. While this did allow her to
scrutinize certain things closely, the process required focus and thus was
susceptible to surprising or emotional events. Essentially, Yukari was apt to
lose control of a gap if she was unable to focus properly.
Like, for instance, if she was exercising every ounce of
self control not to piss herself laughing as she watched the events of Marisa’s
SDM visit. Even if the initial plan was to just keep track of whether Marisa
had met the Yama or not, “Flower View Season 120” would have to remain in
permanent video storage, if only for the occasional laugh.

As the recorded footage took one last view of the Scarlet
Devil Mansion (Shattered window courtesy of a [Blazing Spark], burning lawn
courtesy of a [Royal Flare], and a Magician stuck in the tree courtesy of a
[Magicannon: Final Spark]), Yukari noticed a second view of the Mansion appear
off to her left. The difference between the two was the conspicuous lack of a
magician in the tree and the fires were somewhat more subdued.
“Oh my. Looks like Marisa’s going back for seconds already.
Well, my question can wait until later”
And with that, Yukari Yakumo, Sage of the Youkai slotted another tape into the camera and
leaned back to watch the show.
